A firm massage, shaped around you

Our Revitalising Deep Tissue Massage uses slower, focused work alongside broader massage strokes. Your therapist may use hands, forearms or elbows to work on areas of muscular tension, always adjusting the approach to your comfort. You can choose a session with attention across the body or explain the particular areas you would like to prioritise.

Deep tissue describes an approach to pressure and pace. It is not a test of how much discomfort you can tolerate. Tell your therapist if a technique feels too strong, and ask for less pressure whenever you need it.

When you want more focused attention

Perhaps your shoulders feel tight after a working week, or you prefer a firmer massage to a flowing relaxation treatment. Talk us through how you feel and what you hope to get from the appointment. If you are returning from an injury or have unexplained pain, seek an appropriate assessment first and let your therapist know about any advice you have received.

Choose the time for your priorities

A 45-minute appointment suits a more concentrated brief. Longer sessions give more room to combine particular areas of focus with massage elsewhere. You do not need to decide every detail before arriving: the initial conversation helps agree a sensible plan. For activity-specific concerns, our sports massage page explains that alternative; for a gentler, flowing session, consider relaxation massage.

Your questions,
answered.

Explore all frequently asked questions

Does deep tissue massage have to hurt?

No. The pressure should remain within your comfort level. Ask your therapist to adjust it at any point; stronger pressure is not automatically more useful.

Is deep tissue the same as sports massage?

The approaches can overlap, but sports appointments put more emphasis on your activity, training and areas of concern. Deep tissue can be chosen simply because you prefer focused, firmer massage.

Can I choose just my back and shoulders?

Tell us which areas you would like to prioritise. A shorter focused appointment may suit you; the therapist will help agree what can comfortably fit into the session.
