How long should a massage be?

Thirty minutes for a focused pause, an hour for more space, or a longer appointment to take your time: choose around your priorities.

Thirty minutes: keep the aim focused

A short treatment works best when you have a clear priority. Our mini massage treatments include options for the back, head, feet and face. It is a useful way to make time in a busy day without expecting a complete head-to-toe treatment.

A 30-minute booking is not simply a 90-minute session done faster. Your therapist needs to understand what you want from the appointment, and the treatment should stay comfortable and unhurried.

Forty-five to sixty minutes: room to personalise

Forty-five minutes can suit focused deep tissue work, sports massage or a longer mini treatment, depending on the menu. An hour allows more time across several areas and is a popular starting length for relaxation or pregnancy massage.

You do not need to fill every minute with the strongest possible pressure. Discuss the balance between focused work and general relaxation before the treatment begins.

Ninety to 120 minutes: a more spacious visit

Longer appointments suit people who enjoy taking their time or want attention across more areas. Some treatments, such as hot stone massage, are offered in longer formats to allow for their particular approach. Availability varies by treatment.

If you find it difficult to lie comfortably for a long time, mention that before booking. A shorter appointment with a clear aim may be more comfortable than choosing the longest slot.

Allow time around the appointment

Plan for the journey, parking and reaching our second-floor rooms, as well as the treatment. Check the contact and parking information before setting off. The duration shown in the booking system is the appointment you are reserving; contact us if you need to clarify timing for a particular treatment.

Compare current treatment prices and live availability before deciding. Two simultaneous appointments need to be arranged directly with the team.

Choosing a voucher value

A value voucher is useful when you are not sure how long someone would like. They can put it towards a treatment and choose the duration themselves. Our gift voucher guide explains values, delivery and expiry.
